Auf Wiedersehen, Köln!

Wir sind am Flughafen! It has been a fabulous week!!! We are sure that this is not a "goodbye" but a "see you later"

It looks like our plane is on time. See you at Heathrow!!!

Kletterhalle

We all enjoyed spending the morning in an indoor climbing hall which is situated very close to the school. It was fantastic to see all students taking part, helping each other out and most importantly having lots of fun!

Students are now in lessons with their German partners and we are meeting them at the airport. Our plane is departing at CologneBonn airport at 6.40pm (German time) and we are scheduled to arrive at Heathrow, terminal 2 at 7.05pm (UK time). Our flight number is 4U468.

2 Farben, eine Liebe ... ein Besuch im RheinEnergie Stadion!

Today we enjoyed a guided tour through the RheinEnergie stadium which is the home of the local football club, 1. FC Köln. We had fun looking behind the scenes!

We then went into the city centre of Cologne, had our lunch by the river Rhine and had some time to explore the city centre. Some of us even went up the cathedral and enjoyed a fantastic view of Cologne!

Tomorrow is our last day and we will go to an indoor climbing centre. We hope that we will have some time to upload more pictures before we are due to fly back. Our plane is scheduled to arrive at Heathrow airport (terminal 2) at 7.05pm (flight number: 4U468).

What a beautiful sunrise over Cologne this morning! 

We are off to the RheinEnergie Stadium today which is the home of the local football club, 1. FC Köln! Pictures to follow tonight!

Partnertag und das Phantasialand hat gerufen!

We spent the day at the theme park with the German exchange partners. We had been very lucky with the weather (der Wettergott meinte es gut mit uns! :)) and it was great to see our students having lots of fun at the theme park with their German partners. It was particularly nice to hear Ashcombe students practising lots of German throughout the day and learning new German words they had heard / spotted throughout the day! Weiter so!

Ashcombe students will spend their weekends with their partners and having spoken to them today, everyone has lots of exciting trips/activities planned! We are looking forward to hearing about their stories on Monday! Nun wünschen wir ein schönes Wochenende!

Der Dom grüßt ...

Heute sind wir nach Köln gefahren! We started off with a guided tour through Cologne and its old town where we found out more about the history of the city.

As we walked a lot and gained lots of impressions of the city, we enjoyed a well-deserved break at an ice-cream parlour where Miss Sichla and Miss Evrensel bought ice-cream for everyone.

Highlight of the day included a visit to the chocolate museum and creating our own chocolate bars.
